                       Tuesday 8:35 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.  -  Lunch 11:30 – 12:30

Children should NOT arrive earlier than 8:25 a.m. or remain on school property later than 3:30

unless they are participating in a supervised school activity. Supervision WILL NOT be provided for

students who arrive before 8:25  (unless they participate in our latch-key program)

These procedures are designed for the safety and well-being of your children.

                                                                                ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

If your child is going to be absent from school you must call the school by 8:40 a.m.

A note is also required when a student returns to school. (note from parent/guardian for up to 3

days – a Dr.’s note is required for any additional days absent)

LATENESS TO SCHOOL / LEAVING EARLY

Students who arrive for class after the late bell rings (8:40 am and 12:50 pm (12:35 on Tuesdays)

Must report to the office to obtain a late pass.  Excessive lateness can interfere with a student’s

progress at school; therefore students must keep lateness to a minimum.  Beginning with the fourth

lateness, students will be assigned detention, and other disciplinary action can/will be taken.

If you must pick your child up early from school a note must be sent in with your child.

As lateness to school interrupts the education process, keep in mind that students that must

frequently leave early has the same effect.  Please try to keep this to a minimum.

                                                                                  VISITOR INFORMATION

In order to protect the welfare of the children attending our school,

ALL VISITORS to the school must report to the office and obtain a visitor pass before gaining access

                                                                       DRIVING YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL

TO PICK THEM UP BEFORE, DURING,  AND  AFTER  SCHOOL  Our staff members have assigned parking

spaces, and it is  TOO DANGERIOUS TO HAVE OUR CHILDREN   WALKING IN THE  PARKING LOT!

Students will be warned and a detention may be issued.

If you must drive your child to school and do not want to use our ‘drop off lane” please park your car in

St. Maurice Church’s parking lot and WALK your child (crossing at the corners with the crossing guard)

to the school. Thank you for your cooperation, your child’s safety is very important to us.

                                             CHANGE IN STUDENT/EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

Please make sure that the school has all of this CURRENT information– be sure to up-date this

information as often as necessary during the school year.  NOTE:  It is the parent/guardian’s

responsibility to notify the school district –in writing- of any changes to this information.

                                                                               INCLEMENT WEATHER

When it is necessary to close or delay the opening of school because of extremely bad weather

conditions or other emergency situations, the school district signals parents by announcements on the

radio station (KYW), our school closing number is 600, on our school phone system, and on our school

webpage  www.alicecostello.com.  In the case of a severe emergency where we would have to close

school for and unplanned early dismissal, phone calls will be made, and no child will be dismissed until

parent/guardian/emergency contact person is notified.  *It is so important that you keep this

information up to date with the school, and that your child knows who their emergency person is.
