Stage 1 – Desired Results

What concept or goal will be taught? I.e. what standard will be addressed?

Essential questions (see “Standards Clarification” web site)…what questions will students be able to answer.

What will the students understand/know?

What will the students be able to do?

Stage 2 - Assessment

How will I assess? What do the students understand/know/do?

How will I know that the students have mastered the skills/essential questions?

By what criteria will the student performance be judged? (rubric, other authentic performance tasks)

Other evidences – quizzes, tests, journals, observations, homework, projects, student portfolios

 

Stage 3 – Learning Plan

What learning experiences (individual lessons) in instruction will enable students to achieve the desired results?

Selection of resources – the textbook is one (not the sole) of your resources.
